Warranty Tracker — Privacy Policy

1. Introduction

Warranty Tracker is a product of Fox Tech Labs LLC ("we", "us", "our"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use Warranty Tracker (the "App").

This policy supplements the Fox Tech Labs LLC General Privacy Policy available at foxtechlabs.com/privacy. In the event of a conflict, this app-specific policy takes precedence for matters relating to Warranty Tracker.

By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information described in this policy. We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

2. Information We Collect

Information you provide:

• Account information: name and email address
• Product information: product names, brands, models, purchase dates, prices, store names, warranty durations
• Photos: product photos and receipt images you choose to upload
• Notes: any text notes you add to your products

Information collected automatically:

• Device information: device type, operating system, unique device identifiers
• Usage data: features used, interactions, time spent in the App
• Push notification token: if you enable notifications

3. Receipt Scanning & AI Processing — Important

When you use the receipt scanning feature, the following occurs:

• You take or upload a photo of a purchase receipt
• That image is transmitted to a third-party AI service for analysis
• The AI extracts product name, purchase date, price, and store name from the image
• The extracted data is returned to the App and pre-fills your product form
• You can review and edit all extracted data before saving

What this means for your data:

• Receipt images are transmitted to a third-party AI provider's servers for processing
• Images are processed and discarded — they are not permanently stored by the AI provider
• Receipt images you choose to save in the App are stored securely in our encrypted cloud storage
• We recommend you do not photograph receipts containing sensitive personal information beyond standard purchase details

By using the receipt scanning feature, you consent to the transmission of receipt images to a third-party AI provider for processing.

4. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

• Provide and maintain the App and its features
• Create and manage your account
• Send warranty expiry notifications via push notification and email
• Process in-app purchases through Apple App Store
• Analyze usage patterns to improve the App
• Detect and prevent security issues or fraudulent activity
• Comply with legal obligations

5. Notifications

If you enable notifications, we collect and store your device push token to deliver warranty expiry reminders. If you enable email notifications, we use your email address to send reminders. You can disable push or email notifications at any time in Settings.

6. How We Share Your Information

We share data only with trusted third-party service providers who assist us in operating the App. We do not share your data with advertisers, data brokers, or any other third parties.

The one sharing practice specific to this App that you should be aware of: when you use the receipt scanning feature, receipt images are transmitted to a third-party AI service for processing. See Section 3 for full details.

7. Data Security

We implement the following security measures:

• All data encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest
• Secure authentication and account management
• API keys and sensitive credentials stored server-side only, never on client devices
• Receipt images processed in memory and not retained by the AI provider after processing
• You can only access your own data — other users cannot access your products or warranty records

8. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your personal data is deleted within 90 days, except where retention is required by law. You can request deletion at any time by emailing support@foxtechlabs.com.

9. Your Privacy Rights

GDPR (EEA residents): You have the right to access, correct, delete, port, or restrict processing of your personal data. To exercise these rights, email support@foxtechlabs.com.

CCPA (California residents): You have the right to know what data we collect, request deletion, and opt out of sale of personal information. We do not sell personal information.

10. Children's Privacy

The App is not intended for users under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

11. Changes to This Policy

We will notify you of significant changes via in-app notification or email. The "Last Updated" date at the top reflects when changes were made.
