AquaKeeper — Privacy Policy

1. Introduction

AquaKeeper is a product of Fox Tech Labs LLC ("we", "us", "our"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use AquaKeeper (the "App").

This policy supplements the Fox Tech Labs LLC General Privacy Policy available at foxtechlabs.com/privacy. In the event of a conflict, this app-specific policy takes precedence for matters relating to AquaKeeper.

By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information described in this policy. We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

2. Information We Collect

Information you provide:

  • Account information: name and email address
  • Aquarium information: tank names, types, volumes, setup dates, notes
  • Fish inventory: species names, quantities, dates, notes
  • Water parameter readings: pH, ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, temperature, salinity, and other measurements
  • Maintenance logs: water changes, filter cleanings, feedings, and other tasks
  • Photos: aquarium and fish photos you choose to upload

Information collected automatically:

  • Device information: device type, operating system, unique device identifiers
  • Usage data: features used, interactions, time spent in the App
  • Push notification token: if you enable notifications

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

  • Provide and maintain the App and its features
  • Create and manage your account
  • Send aquarium maintenance reminders via push notification
  • Process in-app purchases through Apple App Store
  • Analyze usage patterns to improve the App
  • Detect and prevent security issues or fraudulent activity
  • Comply with legal obligations

4. Notifications

If you enable notifications, we collect and store your device push token to deliver maintenance reminders (water changes, feedings, filter cleanings, and custom tasks). You can disable notifications at any time in Settings or in your device's notification settings.

5. How We Share Your Information

We share data only with trusted third-party service providers who assist us in operating the App. We do not share your data with advertisers, data brokers, or any other third parties.

6. Data Security

We implement the following security measures:

  • All data encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest
  • Secure authentication and account management
  • API keys and sensitive credentials stored server-side only, never on client devices
  • You can only access your own data — other users cannot access your aquariums or records

7. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your personal data is deleted within 90 days, except where retention is required by law. You can request deletion at any time by emailing support@foxtechlabs.com.

8. Your Privacy Rights

GDPR (EEA residents): You have the right to access, correct, delete, port, or restrict processing of your personal data. To exercise these rights, email support@foxtechlabs.com.

CCPA (California residents): You have the right to know what data we collect, request deletion, and opt out of sale of personal information. We do not sell personal information.

9. Children's Privacy

The App is not intended for users under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

10. Changes to This Policy

We will notify you of significant changes via in-app notification or email. The "Last Updated" date at the top reflects when changes were made.
